Hello...

My name is Jack and I am the founder of Dig for Dementia. I have been a registered nurse for 15 years. I am passionate about dementia care following my time working as a nurse in the community in Wiltshire. I am a firm believer that everyones lives are enriched by spending time in nature and green space. This is something that research has proven, particularly for people with dementia.

I am a keen gardener myself having begun my journey in 2020 when my husband and I moved into our house. There was lots to do and my love for Roses bloomed. I am currently undertaking my certificate in Green Dementia Care with The Therapeutic Forest.
Now I want to combine my two passions, providing enrichment activity for people with dementia and gardening. I am doing this alongside my current job as a university lecturer in adult nursing.

Like many families mine has also been touched by dementia. My grandma had advanced mixed dementia for over 10 years and lived in a wonderful care home. You can see us enjoying some time together in the garden.

Check out the Dig for Dementia social media pages to see what we have been up to.
